In 1973, with a lot of entrepreneurial gumption, Harry “Buzz” Krause founded Philadelphia Grating Company. Buzz knew that a grating company that provided great customer service, accurate fabrication, and quick deliveries, would succeed.
Business grew rapidly and in 1979 Buzz founded a second location to service his southern customers, strategically located in Rock Hill, SC. This company was and is CAROLINA GRATING. With sales and inventory growing, Carolina Grating began to provide products well beyond the area and gained a reputation for great price, and accurately fabricated jobs completed in a timely manner. Carolina Grating grew from an 8,000 square foot warehouse in 1979 to its current 30,000 square foot warehouse, with one of the largest inventories of Grating in the area.
It was a simple philosophy from a not so simple man, and it still works today. We still have employees from the mid 1980’s, trained by “The Buzz Man” himself. One of those is Jeff Butler, Our sales Manager. Jeff has spent almost 40 years with the company. Please count on him for any advice needed.
He and the rest of the crew at Carolina Grating have believe in our system and have stayed the course of this customer-oriented philosophy. It worked then and it certainly works today, and all of us are committed to carrying on this legacy into the future.
